Laroque des Alberes
The sun reigns over the valleys and a multitude of streams, rocky creeks, sandy beaches, high mountains. From the sea to nearly 3000metres, each place is accessible so that you can see for yourself how the landscape has remained intact.
The village is located 10 minutes drive from the magnificent Mediterranean and is nestled in the foothills of the Alberes mountain range. Footpaths into the mountains start from the village. Laroque has a number of quaint bars and restaurants as well as the mandatory bakeries, butchers and grocer.
Other villages close by include Collioure, famous for its artists' studios, restaurants, shops, castles and quaint cobbled streets. Ceret is famous for its gallery with Picasso works of art and the Dali museum is just the other side of the border in Spain.
